The Cederberg is home to the regal Cape Leopard, as well as baboons and many small antelope. The bird life is impressive with over 165 species including the Black Eagle. The Olifants River is a short distance away. Cederberg Wilderness area has some of the world's spectacular sandstone formations, including the well known Maltese Cross, The Wolfberg Cracks and Arches. Perhaps the most impressive of all, is the rich collection of sand rock art dating as far back to 25 000 years.
