St. Lucia
The little town of St. Lucia is part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site. The town is found on the banks of the St. Lucia Estuary, the home of many of the park’s hippos and crocodiles. Other than being a good location to access other parts of the park and several game reserves nearby, St. Lucia is a popular holiday destination due to the good year-round weather.

Whale watching from June to December when Humpback Whales comes to these warmer waters to give birth and nurse their young.

Deep sea charters are popular with fishermen.
Snorkelling at Cape Vidal
Cape Vidal is 38km north of St. Lucia. Visitors can snorkel among corals and a variety of sub-tropical fish.

There are several hiking trails in the park. Visitors can opt for guided hikes.

Avid bird watchers can spend hours ogling some of the 526 species of birds in the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park.
Zulu culture
The life of the rural Zulu is a blend of the modern and the traditional. Zulus may aim for mod cons like electricity and cellphones, but they still adhere to old beliefs and engage in the rituals of days gone by. Many traditional ceremonies are still held.
